“Moon River”…

Illustrated by Edith Head these two options (creations of Hubert de Givenchy, especially for the Audrey’s wardrobe), for the scene that Audrey Hepburn sings Moon River in “Breakfat at Tiffany’s” (1961).

Somehow the scene would’ve lost its poignancy if Audrey hadn’t been wearing the sweater, jeans, and towel.

This is a letter that Audrey Hepburn sent to Henry Mancini after his score was added to the film.

In trying to get Audrey Hepburn on board with Breakfast at Tiffany’s after numerous rebuffals, producer Marty Jurow told her that if she didn’t understand that Holly Golightly was a romantic at heart, then she wasn’t right for the part.

This got the ball rolling.
